I joined Dogs Trust in 2006 after teaching Road Safety in schools for many years. I love working at Dogs Trust Glasgow as I can combine my love of working with children and my passion for dogs!
My workshops link closely to the Curriculum for Excellence and can be tailored to meet the needs of individual schools or classes. Many schools incorporate my visits into curriculum areas such as Health and Wellbeing or Social Studies. Others include workshops into an Enterprise, Health Promoting, Citizenship or Eco Schools focus.
My workshops ensure that children grasp the responsible dog ownership messages, learn how to stay safe around dogs and have lots of fun too!
My loveable Labrador Donny loves visiting schools, he is a fantastic assistant! We hope to meet you during one of our fun workshops very soon!
Lorraine’s workshop was excellent! Her clear, enthusiastic approach and having Donny present stimulated genuine interest from the children. They used the information they learned to create their own ‘caring for dogs’ posters afterwards too.

The visit from Dogs Trust was a great experience for pupils. They learned how to take care of dogs and how to approach unknown dogs. Donny the dog was a hit with pupils and made the experience much more real. We hope Lorraine can visit on an annual basis.
